gradually open hi-hats across a part / bar?

Post by I_am_not_a_drummer »

Hello,

Anyone know of an easy way to replicate 8th hats slowly going from fully closed to open? Something you'd maybe hear leading into a chorus.

Thank you.

Other than hand editing the "openness" of the hats, the easiest ways I can think of would be to draw a CC4 "ramp" in your Jamstix DAW track or use a midi CC pedal.

Great. I'll give that a shot.

Thank you.

You should probably also increase the song power along with the "openness" for a more realistic effect since a live drummer normally would be building up into the next part doing that. You're welcome also.
