How to clone a song part and make it unique?

And another newb question.

(how) is it possible to to clone a part of a song and make it unique for further editing?
This would be helpful for making more variations.
Or do I have to lock one part for this (and if so - how)?

Just right click the song part that you want to clone and Copy Part>Copy Part. Then right click the song part that you want the cloned part placed AFTER and Paste Part>Paste As New Part After Current Part. The part is pasted as an unlinked part so it can be modified without affecting any other song parts.

this was the info I needed.

I have to confess that I had not that much time since getting Jamstix to play around that much with it. Now I hope with some basics now I can easier dive into it.
