JS4 in a Virtual machine

Hi everybody,
while anxiously waiting for JS4 OSX release (btw, any news about the beta test?), I wonder if, having 16 GB RAM on my machine, could be a temporary solution, mainly to get accustomed to the new features, running JS4 for windows in a stripped down install in a Virtual machine... running on the same MAC
1) What is the bare minimum RAM to use in the Virtual machine for JS4 to work decently?
2) Is there one preferred VM, amongst VirtualBox and VMware?
3) Would Win 10 be the best choice, or earlier version would perform better (mind that I wouldn't install any unnecessary module or driver...
What do you think?
