jamstix 3 tutorial series

Post by ding_dong »

Hi there

Just found a 4 part jamstix3 tutorial made by djbolivia.
Its more than 3,5hrs long and covers a lot of ground. Very useful for both beginners and more advanced users.

Part-1 can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o96TLgRjAq8
Rest of the parts should pop up in youtube when you get there.

Ralph...You really should sticky the link and send the guy a box of chocolates ;)

Cheers

Hey, thanks for the mention! I'm looking forward to Jamstix 4 when it comes out, and really getting into it and doing an even better revised tutorial series, if I can find the time.

Indeed. Thanks for the 4 videos Jonathan.Beautifully presented,so well explained throughout.Hope Ralph makes this a sticky. It deserves to be.It will hopefully be seen by many people moving from groove agent, and alike to be a good choice.Well.A great choice.I've been using it ever since Ralph had it in Beta form.Such a fine company.Always superb support, lovely helpful folks on the Jamstix forum too.It should be so much better known than it is!! Working it in Ableton 9 is something else, with the amount of clips etc.Using the export to midi, and importing drums from any of one of your favourite songs.Say a Rush song, because I love them as well.Extract drums to midi. You can have the midi drum parts being played by Neil Peart's brain and hands, and feet in Jamstix, but with you tweaking in a few twisted ideas of yourself .Quite stunning when I then start playing guitar in audio jam too :) The limits are limitless thoughts of your mind :)

I would pay 5 or 10 bucks if 50-100 other folks did too, just so someone would spend the time to put a clickable index/table of contents on those 3.5 hrs of youtube.

I've tried more than once, but I can't sit down and watch that in a linear fashion.

Ok. I'll get on it. Give me until next weekend, just in case. I just got back to my studio a few weeks ago after 9 months on the road, so a thorough refresher is in order anyway before I start working on additional jamstix-related videos.

No need for cash donations. Just help share the videos once I get the links list set up :)

The man himself! Thanks, dj_bolivia! You better believe it, I will be one of many many who re-share the links. That is awfully nice of you to do this, not to mention doing the whole thing in the first place!

Alexis, as per your request, check out this post and see if this is helpful to you:

Also, here's a full link to all my tutorial videos:

I'm going to try to put together a few more JS-related videos in the next six weeks, before I have to disappear into the bush again for another 8 months of forestry work.
