One drum out to midi only? Yes you can!

Someone suggested this in another thread...

Why don't you send the bass drum out on its own midi channel and use that to drive the drum synth of your choice. You are not stuck with the sounds JS offers.

I haven't played with this - it's either been all JS3 or all out to Kontakt/SSD via midi. Is it possible to only send one drum to Midi?
