Jamstix window display got corrupted... (solved)

Post by cubic_13 »

Just went to use Jamstix (3.0.2) this morning under Cubase 5.5.1, starting with a project that I often use as a template. When I tried to open jamstix UI, I got a window in which all is grey, excepting few elements of the song sheet ('Wizard', 'Time' and 'Shuffle' buttons, vertical cursor), the three first bars with the cursor of the timeline and a little black rectangle at the center of the window. No menu available and no sound.

What I tried :
- remove Jamstix and the corresponding MIDI track in the project then reload it with Cubase VST instruments (F11) window.
- load Jamstix in a new empty project.
- reboot my system and try again
- using Jamstix in Sonar 8.5.3.

All these lead to exactly the same result. Jamstix is loaded as a VSTi, MIDI messages are received, but no sound and exactly the same few elements displayed. Cubase and Sonar don't seem affected : they are still as stable as can be, but Jamstix is unusable.

Any ideas ?

Hm, did you delete any folders within the Jamstix3 directory? Or did you move the plug-in to another folder? It seems Jamstix is missing important data.

Maybe reinstalling Jamstix3 is the easiest way to solve the problem.

Jamstix window display got corrupted... (solved)

Hi, XoechZ

I solved my problem one hour ago by, indeed, reinstalling JS3 (just the plug-in). Everything came back to normal after this. Still wondering what happened, though : corrupted file or something...

Thanks for your answer. :)
