"Tacked on" as I used it refers to something that was added, in a less than ideal manner, to an object at the last minute because that "something" was unintentionally overlooked during creating the object.

I understand. It is something like fixing a patch over something.

OT permission

Well, thank you, but I feel I still speak Tarzanish. I am not german, though, I am chilean. My german sounding nick name (button) comes from my teenager and adult admiration of Mr. Knopfler. But after living five years in Germany I can communicate in the complicated language von Herrn Zeuner (I don’t want to say awful language, only Mark Twain is allowed to say it, I even find it beautiful).

i found an awesome free Cornford profile and used it because i loved the sound but like you said a_zimuth. a bit too much.

i am going to find a tone similar to what Brent Mason used in this song around 2:10 to see if that works better.

still dirty but much cleaner.
That is definitely more along the lines of what my ears were expecting Brian. I do think you could go even significantly dirtier with the solo tone than that as long as you can preserve the string & picking dynamics. Great solo by the way, I really like the flow of it.
i just did some quick research. looks like Brent Mason uses a modded 65 Bassman a lot. i just tried a kemper profile that i think sounds great with this tune. i put a touch of compression from the Boss i modded.

i will redo the solo. well solos since i doubled them and play a some harmony notes at the very end of the second solo.

In my dreams that is exactly the playing ability I would have if Youtube existed when I was 15 LOL. Guthrie is just a breathtaking player who can apparently cover any genre placed in front of him.

Close enough.

Apologies for making an assumption. My Spanish is no better than my German. If it wasn't for Google I'd never know what anyone was talking about sometimes.

I added the Ld Vox track so the person who sang it can listen for tuning issues.

I also redid the solo with a cleaner albeit still dirty sound. It is a 65 BF profile.

Once the Ld Vox kinks are done, I will do the same for the BGV and then mix it.

I am doing these as demos only for shopping.

Brian

PS. It is really just a silly song.

The song is coming along nicely Brian. I just listened to the latest vocal premix you uploaded on RN and it is much better. Did you do the vox yourself? Nice job whoever did them. The Resonator sounds better in this version also, not sure what you did with it but well done. I personally would harmonize certain Resonator notes and in the main Guitar solo but that's just my preference, I'm not sure it fits the genre. I would also back off on the attack time of the comp on the Guitar solo further to let more transients through, again just something I would try. It's good overall, I enjoyed it.

Nailed it Brian, that sounds great. If you did all the vox on this you have a great voice for this stuff.

i am an awful singer so i asked a buddy to sing it.

a couple years ago i was trying to co-write with a guy in town.

this guy:

we were supposed to meet and discuss but he blew me off :(

PS. the guys that sang my song is in this band. he is the guitar player but he sings a few of their songs.

I did this EP for them. My first project that was not me.

i did some ducking on the reso which is going on throughout the chorus and here and there during some verses.

i want the voice to be the main focus during those times. was the reso a distraction at any point?

thanks again
