JS3 How do i force more power to the hi-hats?

My hi-hat cymbals are always weak sounding. Turning the volume up in kits doesn't help much.

I like loud hi-hats. But, I can hardly hear them in the mix. How do I make the player hit them harder or whatever else I can do to make them stand out?

Have you gone onto the drum kit itself? You can change each drum kit's volume on there.I tend to have each piece set to a different audio input in Ableton live and use it that way,but the mixer inside Jamstix can help also if you have made sure it's not set to just stereo or sinlel output in the settings part of Jamstix.

Hey DoD,

Have you tried setting the Velocity Behavior curve in the Kit Editor for your kit's Hats to Expanded or draw a custom curve? That would be the first thing I tried. See pg. 17 of the JS3 manual.

I wonder if I hit something by mistake that may have limited the hi-hat volume. I started another project with the same drummer and kit. The hats were able to be turned up as much as I needed.
