Jamstix 4.4.0 & MODODRUM

Post by dayvy_g »

I think I've got it sorted out. The power hand was kicking in and hitting the hats at 50% which was overriding what was displayed in the groove grid. My fault.

Thanks anyway.

Is it possible to have a "modo drum" kit for jamstix 3?

There is an IK "Group Buy" that is up to 21 free products of equal or less value of the list price of what you buy. That means some things that are on sale will allow you to get "promo" buys of other products the same list price or less.

Though this promotion I got MODO Drums. Their marketing is confusing at first because they award you "Jam Points" after you buy things and they have "crossgrade" pricing if you have bought something else from them.

I haven't installed it yet - will report back

Exacly! :)
got it throught the same path. I admit I still haven't explored it. I would like to link it to jamstix, but I am still on version 3...

Ralph [RZ] wrote:Starting with version 4.4.0 Beta 3, Jamstix supports the just released MODODRUM from IK Multimedia with input and output mappings but also with snare and tom head positioning.

For the latter to work, you need to enable snare and tom positioning in MODODRUM and set the MIDI controllers to 14 (Snare) and 15 (Tom). Now load a MODODRUM output mapping in Jamstix and Jamstix will automatically send positioning info to MODODRUM via MIDI.
You can control the random fluctuations as well as the head offset for L/R hits via new menu items in the kit menu.

Please note that you must enable CC #15 for each tom in MODODRUM.

Let us know what you think!

That's very nice of you to support that.

Jamstix 4.4.0 & MODODRUM

I have Modo 1.5.0, JS 4.4.6, Win 11, Reaper 6.64.

Running Jamstix on one track and routing to Modo I do see the midi CC event.

However, when I export the midi via "Save file" there is no CC 14 or 15 information in the file.

Thanks

EDIT: I filed this plus another midi "Save As..." bug, looks like there will be some work done in that feature area.
