Thanks in advance,

Jamstix 3.5 uses the PNG alpha channel instead of the fixed transparency values for the JS 3.3 BMPs.

Spent last night playing around with beta9 in Reaper (x64) v4.25, on Win7-64.

Had a few issues with an address error getting into a loop (had to end task once) and what seemed like a semi-freezing issue, where just running task manager got JS and Reaper to respond again. Both issues seemed to revolve around kit switching, which I was doing extensively.

Also in the brain menu under the song tab, the "add" option does nothing when I click it. I vaguely recall a mention that not everything is included in the beta, though, so this might be the case here.

Anyway, glad to have native 64bit now and looking forward to the forthcoming mappings....and final release. :)

Thanks Ralph! Where can I adjust these values for the Groove, and Accent pages in the Brain? For example, here is what it lookslike now:

One more thing; the mixer menu won't open up for me.

Sorry but the brain frame colors (white/orange) are hard-coded in JS 3.5 :(
The mixer menu is not yet active in the Beta. It's just load/save anyway.

Hah! I reloaded it and I see what you mean! Here, I thought that I had broken something messing with the skin. Thanks for the update on the menu load/save too!

Hi Ralph,

I have been having a lot of issues loading the default songs on the new version. I figured that I messed something up, so I reinstalled everything from scratch (including all of my .rxp2 files), and can easiliy replicate the issue.

Sometimes when I load a song, it hangs StudioOne Pro v2.06. JS doesn't hang though, it's like it just won't pass contral back to the host. If I then reload the song, it works fine about 75 percent of the time. When it doesn't, it's either another hang (and song reload), or the song loads but only the bass drum will play. When the latter happens, I can reload the kit (instead of the whole song), and it usually works fine after that.

Again, I'm working with a completely clean installation now, no modifications to the UI, and I have used the interface to reload the kits, drummers, etc...please let me know if you need more data to help figure out what's happeining. One last thing...since I have reloaded everything, the voices count is working fine!

[edit: I have discovered that anytime it hangs, I can clear it by just reloading the kit. This appears to pass back control to the host consistently, and the song plays just fine.]

Thanks in advance,
G

Update: Just to show you how much I love JS - although I wish that I had JC too, and my love was complete ;0) - I have been working on the beta for most of my day off today, and have managed to successfully convert the silver skin perfectly, and discovered that a kit reload is not required to pass control back to the host as mentioned below (if it hangs)...all you need to do is click the kit as though you were going to load it, then cancel. Also, if the kit only plays the bass drum, it's because "downmix" got de-selected when the kit loaded (seems random). Clicking it back on (or mapping the routing to your host), fixes that too. I hope that this info helps you to make JS perfect (although it already is in my mind).

May I link the modified skin for others to use, or perhaps you could host it Ralph?

Take care,
G

UPDATE: Ralph - FYI, I've been using it tonight in Cubase 6.5 with any of the previously expressed issues...aside from the "add" option still doing nothing. :)

Anyway, looks like the address and freezing things must have something to do with Reaper.

Ralph,

I'm getting a lot of CPU spikes that I don't see on v3.3. I have increased the audio buffer to 256 samples (Studio One Pro v2.06 show 18.6 ms latency in), and it still occurs. It doesn't happen as much if I turn off LoD, but it still does spike some, unless I turn Dynamic Realism down to about halfway...then it only happens once per preloaded song (interestingly, always nead the end). How many articulation layers are in play at 50% Dynamic Realism?

Thanks again,
G
