Rayzoon RoadMap (As Of October 2017)

Post by Robitaille20 »

Oh damn it.. now I've gone and done it! I just watched all the Jamstix videos on YouTube- it's been so long since I've used the software that I'd actually forgotten just how damned awesome it is (how did I forget!?!?) and it looks like it's got more features than it did last time I used it- it's been a few years! I'm going to have to get this working on my Mac stat...guess I'll be trying out the Wine deal sooner rather than later just so that I can get it running again.

I do have one question though..and I'm asking because I'm at work right now and can't play with it to find out for myself: Can I use the Wine method that has been posted to trigger my Steven Slate Drums 4.0 on the Mac side without having to install SSD into the Wine side?

yes, no problem to trigger SSD on the mac.

please wait a few days I have a slightly new version of the JamstixWine installer that I'm waiting for Ralph to post on the forum, it solves an issue with the latest version of JackOSX

K the new JamstixWine installer is up: http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35635#35635

Make sure you install JackOSX first, then JamstixWine. Then read the readme to get started.

Downloaded it at work and opened everything up with 7-zip just so that I could get the documentation. Seems really straight forward and impressive! My hats off to you on all the work you put into it, and your documentation looks outstanding! Now I just have to find the free time to try to get it installed. Maybe this weekend. Can't wait.

Dewdman-

I just added a reply to the other thread about getting this up and running. Once I update to 3.5 Reaper crashes every time I add Jamstix.

if you read that whole thread you will see that Jamstix 3.5 is not supported. Changes they made to Jamstix in 3.5 broke the wine compatability. I'm not sure whether it could be sorted out or not, but for me its not worth the effort since a real OSX version is nearing completion.

It has the latest best version before 3.5, 3.3 something er orther, which works fine

Well I'm about to give up and wait for the real deal I think. I cannot for the life of me get the sync between Studio One to work. Apparently Studio One isn't capable of being the midi slave (at least from what I've found on the Presonus forum). Shame.... I REALLY wanted to get this working. If it is possible, I'm obviously missing something.

*Update* I've gone the other way and gotten the Sync to go from Studio ONe to Reaper.. that part works. Now I'm banging my head on trying to figure out how to get the MIDI information from Reaper/Jamstix to show up in Studio One. Feel so close!

I had a lot of problems getting reaperWine to slave to Digital Performer, so congrats you got that to work. Usually I have to do it the other way around.

Tell us more about how you have the interapplication midi setup, maybe we can help you figure it out.
