jamming with audio

Post by musicman1705 »

Hi,Ralph

I has been awhile since i have used my jamstix2 and have forgotten lots of it uses.
I have recorded all my tracks guitar/bass /vocals/lead,but i did not like the drums that were on the song.So i deleted it. I hooked up jamstix2 and used the AudioM8 plugin on the guitar track.I then recorded the data to a midi track. I now want to be able to go back in to jamstix and edit the drum track as there are a few part that i don,t like.I would like to be able to use the brian and recomposes to try a few diffrent bars and fills. Can i do this and how?
I don,t know if i went about this the right way to begin with. I deleted some of the midi drum track,as i wanted to leave this part blank, but i still seem to play the data back from jamstix. How can i fix this.Or can i?
It there a better way to do what i just explained to you as i want to keep the work flow going smooth and fast.
I have a few other songs that i want to do the same thing with( dump the drum track and record a new one with jamstix).I want to make it easyer to do this as i am not a drum player and i am relying on jamstix2 to compose and edit what i want to change. What is the best way of doing this Ralph.Thank you for your help.

You can work out the drum track completely within Jamstix.
No need to record or put out any midi data.

If you want to try different arrangements of the song you can save them by using the "save song" option in JS, e.g. "my song version 1", "version 2" etc.

Also you don´t necessarily have to use Audio M8. The use of it can help to connect JS to the dynamics of a specific track, but if you plan to fine-tune the drum parts anyway it´s better to work with Jamstix´own parts/styles/drummer model concept and use your hosts velocity automation to control Jamstix´dynamics.

After i recorded the drum track with AudioM8(jam-with audio).I switched the performance mode to (drum module mode).

I am going to try what Doc said. I will record the hole drum track within jamstix2 and edit it in there. What Mode should i be in when doing this?
