Fix for ASIO Overloads/Crackles with GUI Open

Post by Ralph @ Rayzoon »

Anyone who experiences crackles and/or ASIO overloads with the Jamstix 3 GUI open, please test-drive the 3.1 Beta 12 as it has fixed this for many users. Please report if it does not fix it for you.

I'll try this the second I get home. To be honest I had gone back to using V2 because of this issue. Never thought to close the GUI.

Beta 14 fixes this problem even with GUI open. If not, let me know.

Whether the GUI is opened or closed I have chronic pops and crackles either way. If I disable JS in the VST instrument rack playback then becomes flawless. As soon as its enabled again pops and crackles return. This even happens when JS is not actually playing anything as well.

Also, JS now ONLY works in Cubase 5.5.2 - [b:3d5443fa9f]64-bit[/b:3d5443fa9f]. :?
It's not 'seen' by the 32-bit version.

Please send me rzdlog.txt from the 64-bit version.

As far as 32-bit is concerned, if JS is not in the plugin list of Cubase, check if it is marked unloadable in the scan list and re-enable it.

Ralph,

This old problem has resurfaced with 3.5 but running 64 bit. I am using RC1. I just upgraded to a 64 bit host and when the GUI is open I get the noise (pops/cracks) every few bars. If I close the GUI it is clean. This is the same problem that happened and was fixed with 3.1.

Note: I am the user that originally brought this to your attention see http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5046&highlight=

Please send me rzdlog.txt from Document\Jamstix3. Also, what is your ASIO driver under 64-bit?

I have had similar crackling sounds at lower latencies. I had to increase my asio buffer to at least 256.

This makes it sound better but if I want to add more tracks it will mean freezing other synths so JS is the only one playing or Bouncing the JS tracks and turning off JS while tracking.

I am seeing this only in projects that have several other synths running. If I freeze a few of then the pops and clicks go away.
