I just downloaded and installed JS3 Beta. I install the program to my C: drive under Steinberg\VST Plugins, and I have the drumkits installed on a removable USB harddrive. When I start JS3 in Cubase 5 and go to load a kit, some kits are missing such as the Bonzopack are completely missing and kits that do show up in list and I load them they come up with some parts missing. I tried copying the data folder and the JS3dll to the USB drive where the drums are installed, (this idea may be totally stupid but it seemed like a long time ago when I needed to do this with another version of JS this is what Ralph told me to do, so forgive me if it is a totally of the wall idea and I rememberd what Ralph told me incorreclty) but any correct solutions that will help me out with my problem will be greatly appreciated.
If this is helpful I am running a HP Pavilion Core duo quad 4 2.3 processor, 4gb ram, 500gb 7200rpm hard drive with a Mackie 1640 firewire converter.

JS3 beta drumkits missing parts
The JS3 Beta does not come with any sounds so it requires an installed JS2 of which it will use all available sounds. However, if you wish to use expansion Pak kits, styles or players, you must manually copy them from the Jamstix 2 folder to the Jamstix 3 folder. The final JS3 release will have a migration tool for this.

Does this imply that the data needs to be duplicated in both places? I would much rather re-point JS3 to share the same data source as JS2 (or vice verse), as my samples drive is filling up fast...Ralph [RZ] wrote:The final JS3 release will have a migration tool for this.

Ralph,
Never stops to amaze me over the years how your tech support answers still are always so prompt and clear. Thanks as ususal.
Guitarfish,
Unless I misunderstood him, I think this is what Ralph meant when he said the full version would have a migration tool meaning you can put your samples wherever you want and tell JS3 where they are at.
