About the mixer : outputs display...

Post by cubic_13 »

Hello,

Couldn't find a topic related, so I expose my problem here...

I am using Jamstix 2.2.1 with Cubase 4.5.2, and since now, I didn't need more than 4 outputs. I am currently working on a project that needs 6 outputs available, so I setted the 'Audio outputs' to 6 in the mixer and, in Cubase, used the little icon to activate all the outputs near the instruments drop list in the VST instruments (F11).

Reloading the project, indeed, I got the 6 tracks needed in Cubase 4, all active... fine.

The problem is that I can only view the four first outputs in Jamstix mixer. How can you display ALL the outputs, at least to make the relevent settings (compressor, EQ) for the two outputs left ?

Thanks for any reply... :)

The JS2 mixer only supports the first 4 outputs so you'll have to use compression and EQ in the host for the rest.

Thanks for your answer, Ralph...

To be honest, I was fearing it, after reading the manual. I was hoping that I missed somrthing.

In fact, I was expecting, when I set the number of audio outputs to 6, to see the mixer display the added outputs in a "scrollable" (not sure of my english, here... ) frame with the same controls as the first four ones.

Is it planned to baheve so in a future release or in an equivalent way ? It seems a bit strange to limit controls as important as EQ and compressor to the first four ones... :?

The main reason we are only supporting compression and EQ on the first 4 outputs is that most people who need more than that will use their own favorite compressors and EQs in the host tracks/busses anyway.

However, we are planning to expand the mixer to cover all outputs in Jamstix 3.

You're probably right about the compressor and EQ, however it would be nice to have all the outputs with their own fader settings at a glance.

So, waiting anxiously for Jamstix the third !

Thanks... :)
