Midi Difference

Post by AlanB »

Hi!

I've recently returned to using my Korg PadKontrol to trigger Jamstix 2 in Drum Module mode. The sequencer I'm using is Tracktion 2, although I will also be using this in Cubase 4.

Having restored the PadKontrol Scenes (midi mappings) to factory settings, I selected Scene 6 which the manual describes as GM Standard Kit 1. I then started playing the pads, and checked that the correct note was being triggered in the kit settings window in Jamstix, initially for bass and snare.

I've noticed that C2 on the PadKontrol corresponds to C1 in Jamstix (which I can live with) but I've noticed that if I trigger a pad assigned to D2 on the PadKontrol, it triggers F1 in Jamstix. Similiarly, D#2 on the PadKontrol triggers E1 in Jamstix. :?

I get similar mismatches with my midi keyboard...some notes match, and the is a difference of one or two notes with others (e.g. D#->E, F->G).

Any ideas on why there is the difference and how to fix it?

Thanks

AlanB

Try unchecking 'Map GM' in the drum module mode settings of JS2.
