HI
sorry - posted this on Jamstix forum in error - is it possible to add your own percussion sounds into Jamcussion?
Also, why is it that, when I select Silent as the percussion player the idiot still plays?
Thanks

Hi.
You can't put your own sounds into Jamstix but you can use MIDI out to have it play another sampler like Battery. The "silent" player will still play what is in the bar editor, he will just not play any accents or fills. If you want true silence you need to select both the style and the player as Silent.

Excellent - thanks for the reply.
Interesting thought about using it as a controller of a different sound source. I already use Jamstix to drive Steven Slate - is there an easy way to output Jamcussion to a different DAW channel from Jamstix?
Thanks for the 'Silent' info too - sounds like he is poorly named. May be better to call him 'Simple'
Thanks!

Hi Ralph,
I'm a bit of a MIDI dunce, but I guess what I'm looking for here is that I can drive SSD from the Jamstix part of the program and a DAW 'drum machine/sound bank' from the Jamcussion side.
I use Presonus Studio One 2.5 and that has lots of sound sources - so I guess I would allocate one of those to a separate DAW track from SSD and drive it using a separate MIDI channel out from JS3.5? Is that how it works? If so, what is it that I need to do to enable that?
Thanks!

Go into Jamcussion mode and then use 'Send Whole Kit To MIDI Channel' in the kit menu to specify a MIDI channel for JC separate from JS.

Thanks Ralph - so simple!
I always thought, for some reason, that "whole kit" would mean drums and percussion and not be separate! My mistake.
I'll give this a try and see how I get on - thanks!
Now, let me stop distracting you from your important MacOS work!!
