I've done a project with JS2. Loading the exact same song in J3, there are some undesirable variations.
The very first kick drum hit is missing. Also, the first fill is always played in this other way that just isn't desirable. Finally, the toms are way too loud.
Are such changes to be expected and manually corrected, or is there some bug - ie. shouldn't the song be played the same?
Should I post files?

Please send me the JS2 song file and also rzdlog.txt from My Documents\Jamstix3.

I have solved the issue of the missing kick by re-saving the song in JS2 and re-loading it in JS3.Ralph [RZ] wrote:Please send me the JS2 song file and also rzdlog.txt from My Documents\Jamstix3.
Sorry if this is a daft question, but in JS2 when you double-click any of the drums, you get this menu that I don't know what's called - it's the one with key, velomap etc. for each individual drum piece. Seems like changes to these settings are not properly migrated to JS3?
Anyway, after tweaking a bit I found some settings in JS3 that I like even better, so that problem is gone on my end as I've switched entirely to JS3 now.
While I might have your attention - part of my recent confusion about kit file placement had to do with the fact that if one installs the Jamstix 'data' folder in a custom position (like I did by having it in my VST folder in a folder called 'Jamstix, the update .exe will create a new data folder in C:\jamstix3 wihout asking for any previous custom location. So everything is doubled, which is a pita. Just a FYI.
I've tranferred the files manually (to C:\jamstix3) ad deleted the other, so this problem is gone for now as well.
Thanks for a killer machine.

The Jamstix 3 updater looks for a file where Jamstix records the data folder as it runs so it should have worked. Did you move the data folder and then run the updater without running JS at least one time to record the change?

Yes, that's probably it.Ralph [RZ] wrote:The Jamstix 3 updater looks for a file where Jamstix records the data folder as it runs so it should have worked. Did you move the data folder and then run the updater without running JS at least one time to record the change?
