Hi - I recorded some notes on a single pad from my Yamaha DTX1V kit into Reaper. On some of the quicker recorded passages, Jamstix doesn't play some of the notes.
I put a command line midi monitor on the input and the the notes are coming in as note on <velocity nnn> / note off <velocity 0> messages. Some of the note ons arrive before the previous note on <v0>, because the Yamaha kit has a 'decay time' before it sends the note on <v0>.
Reaper seems to be recording the note on <velocity nnn> messages only.
What specifically is causing my problem?
What is Jamstix expecting?
How do I set this up correctly?

It seems that if a note has a similar velocity to the previous, Jamstix will not play it. If I edit my velocities, I can hear all the notes. However, I don't want this. I want it as played.

...and also Reaper is correctly sizing and capturing all the notes using note on <vnnn> / note off <v0>. When I said Reaper was only recording the note on messages, I was interpreting the event list incorrectly.

Weird - as soon as I touched any velocity slider for that item in Reaper's midi editor. All notes are now playing. I'm starting to suspect it's a feature in Reaper. I'll go over there unless someone has a suggestion.

I figured it out - In Reaper's midi editor, there is an option to "Automatically Correct Overlapping Notes" - i turned it off.
