Jamstix & REAPER

We're still working on issues with the next Beta and I don't expect it to improve crackling. However, we have another effort in the works that may. Stay tuned.

Jamstix & REAPER

Post by Klemperer »

After a long time without being able to make music I just got a new PC after 8 years (hooray).
Learnt that Jamstix is 64bit (I can install Reaper 32bit or 64 bit, both work great).
Just a word of advice maybe as I read this here - up to now I used the latest Jamstix3 version that could host other dlls. Would you recommend installing that one before the little problems I read here are fixed, or are those minor issues (as long as playback works, everything is superb for me)
Downloading 3.5 now, but I might have the 3.21 or what it was still - waiting or 3.5 now, Mr. Ralph-oracle^^?

- edit - after reading here I find that you are already at beta 8 :D . Maybe my question is totally irrelevant by now...

Hi Klemperer,

Just wanted to give you a heads up that with beta 8 & Reaper you will probably get a runtime error when closing Reaper. You just have to close out the alert and nothing else is affected. Everything works great otherwise on my system, Ralph is looking into this problem.

Hi, I tried the new beta 8 but as soon as I load Jamstix REAPER freezes. Don´t know what´s the cause.
I reinstalled beta 3 (are there any versions in between?) it works...so I still have crackling with the internal sounds...hm.

When will this issue (crackling) be fixed?

Load-crash with Beta 8 usually indicates incorrect Beta 8 installation. Make sure you replace jamstix3.dll in your plugin folder with the new DLL from the Beta 8 ZIP. If it still crashes, send me Documents\Jamstix3\rzdlog.txt.

I followed the instructions, controlled it twice - same result. Beta8 crashes/freezes REAPER (at least on my system).

Also having problems with JS beta 8 (also previous beta 3). When I try to:

Right click on a part (Intro, chorus....) a selection menu appears and I select remove part. However, it does not remove and then I can no longer R-Click on any of the parts.

Here is a particularly nasty crash with JS 3.5.1 Beta 8 in current Reaper:

Reinstalled JS V3.50 x64 and all seems to be working again.

Jazzmandan, please don't try the 32-bit as I don't think it would help giving that the code bases are the same. Please do this:

- set access rights for c:\program files\jamstix3 to 'Everyone', full.
- uncheck 'Load-On-Demand' in Jamstix options.

Tell me what issues remain after that.
