Jamstix & Cubase

Post by Glass_Wizard »

I am a newb, just got Jamstix 2 up and running and it seems to be working great. The only issue I am having is that when I try to have it jam with audio I get no output from the Jamstix. I inserted the M8 into an effect channel, the bass being the strongest, and could see the program working along with the parts but couldn't get the drums to play along through my monitors. Is there a routing step that I am missing?
Please help, I'd really like to replace my hand configured drum tracks.

Where is the power knob in JS2 on average in this setup?

I had it in the default position, about midway. Then I experimented with moving it around. I'm going to give it another shot and see if I physically missed something.

:) Figured it out, I don't know why but when I opened the project back up everything started working. Now I just have to read up on the tempo and I should be making tunes that jam in no time. Thanks for the quick response, this program is sweet!

Ralph, I wish all software companies took care of their customers like you do. Sad day for me as I am going to look for an alternative as I simply can not make music anymore using Cubase 6 64 bit on Windows 7 64. I have tried going back to the older programs Jamstix 1 and 2 using jbridge with no luck. Jamstix 3 will work sort of with jbridge but the options are now too much too control. I just want to make simple music and compatibility ans simplicity is not happening. Sorry... this is a great product in 32 bit and I made a ton of music with it. I think you are close to 64 bit now with all the variations its too much for a guy like me that appreciates Jamstix 1. I know sounds dumb...

Have you tried the JS 3.5 64-bit Beta?

Yes, tried it and on my system a bit frustrating so I went to 3.3.0 with jbridge but that didn't help much... then back to 1.8.1 and then 2.5.3 with jbridge but that was futile... I may be dull but I wish version 1 could be 64 bit, but jbridge does not work on this and clumps all the midi data together on the first beat of the measure... sometimes the best music experience is with using windows and then again sometimes the worst as well since every system is an unique configuration. The software when I was configured 32 bit was awesome and again I made a good use of it and appreciated your customer service and attitutude toward customers. You are very kind and I still hope the 64 bit version will be completed soon as I will still try it out.

Hello! After the upgrade to Cubase 7.5 PRO version 8 (currently 8.0.5) there is a problem when using Jamstix (3.6.1 x64).
The problem is this: after the launch JS tool rack mode after attempting to change the volume of the JS in the corresponding bus audio C8 stops sound. If you do not touch the fader, JS works as before with no problems. Is there a solution?
My system: Win 7x64, intel core i7 3770K, 16Gb RAM, audio interface FW16E (Motif XF), Cubase Pro 8.0.5 x64
