Finished this song last month. Starts off with a clean guitar part then gets going. Singer is from Kompoz.com (Scorp1on) Im playing all guitars/bass.
Its more on the proggy technical style so its not for everyone.
Im using js2 subhosting bfd2. Im also using Jamcussion in the song in parts.
The streaming is decent mp3 quality. The download is 24/ 44.1 high quality.

That sure is a bold combination of stylistic devices. It sort of appeals to me, though it's probably not going to become one of my favourites for sheer listening pleasures. The vocals are perhaps a bit on the soft side in the first section; if that's by design, perhaps slightly increasing their level might be nice.
The transition into the rockier part is, frankly, a little bit boring. Not that I have any bright ideas about how to change it up to offer. Oh, cool, another short passage with clean guitars and sexy drums.
I'm not an expert on prog rock, but I would have imagined the rocky parts to be way more saturated. Most of the action seems to be going on in the very low and mid/high frequency areas; the guitars aren't really doing much between that. In case you were actually going for a somewhat, uh, "empty" sound, just ignore all that.
My rating: 5 out of 10... mostly because this is not very much to my taste. For what it is I guess it's pretty good.

I found a new appreciation for prog rock while developing MetalPak drummers like 'Mike'. This song exhibits all the qualities of the genre: complex rhythms, odd harmonic progressions, strong guitars, loads of double bass where appropriate. I give it two thumbs up! It sounds great and I know how much work goes into something like this.
But the best part is, of course, the JC rainsticks

Hey jast_. Thanks for the review. I guess you wont be attending the cd release party then?
Hey Ralph, glad you like it. I realize its a niche style thats not for everyone, so when someone does take notice....... well, thats pretty cool. And good ear on catching the rainsticks. Hey, if you got em, why not use em?
