John Densmore and more than two ride articulations

I bought Jamstix 3 a couple of years ago and now have JS4, but never took the time to try learning it until now!
A couple of questions:
1. I really like the ride cymbal work of John Densmore. Is there a player or brain elements that would get me in the ballpark?
2. I'm using JS4 with BFD3 and the Virtually Erskine expansion that has a really great sounding rivet ride with three articulations: edge, hit, and bell. I would like to use all three on the same cymbal, but it appears that only hit and bell are available. I understand that I could use another cymbal for the edge, but I would like to maintain the timing of everything played on the same cymbal. Is there a workaround for this?
