Hi, My project is set at 120BPM and I have Jamstix set to half speed and when I drag the song midi file to a midi track I'm getting the full midi track but it is now at 120BPM as per project tempo so it's only covering half the song..this took me by surprise but I suppose I should have expected this to happen
can anyone tell me how to put it right please, I don't want Jamstix to play at 120BPM, I'm probably being thick here but help would be much appreciated.

I was having a similar issue recently. Just to make sure, have you played through the entire project in Jamstix since changing it back to full speed? Mine was cutting out anything I hadn't actually played.

my project is at 120BPM and I'm playing JS at half speed then dragging the midi file..I know it's probably the wrong way to do it but dunno what to do, gotta be something to do with sorting the timing out in JS, bit confused at the mo.

You say that you've got JS set to half speed... what happens if you set it to full speed?

at full speed it goes too fast for the song...I just know I'm being stupid but how would I make JS play slower on a 120BPM project?

If the problem goes away with full speed, you could grab the MIDI from Jamstix and then stretch it to the proper length in your DAW.

Thank you VERY much loka..you've just introduced me to something I wasn't aware existed in Cubase, the "sizing applies time stretch tool" took a while to find it after some internet search about stretching midi but..what a great tool it is..

Also, maybe this is a dumb question, but is there some reason you can't set the project tempo to 60bpm?

That's a good question actually...when I'm putting a song together I tend to open a project and play the drum beat on my keyboard for a few bars, then I put that midi file into Jamstix and get on with the song, meanwhile the project tempo is at 120BPM and by the time I get to dragging the midi file from Jamstix I've already recorded a lot of wav stuff...
I dare not think about the complexities of slowing the wav files down
in short ..I'm working wrong clearly I should ascertain the tempo before I start recording.
problem for me is by the time I do this stuff I've forgotten the song that's in my head

I don't know how you'd do it in Cubase, but basically every DAW has some way to change the project tempo without affecting audio files, specifically for this purpose.
