Low drum sound on first hits Jamstix 2

Whenever I use Jamstix on a song where the kick or snare lead (intro)before the beginning of a song, the first and second hit always sound muted. Then after the muted sounding hits play, the rest of the drum hits are loud as they should be. I've tried compression within Jamstix, compression at the Bus and tried it without any compression anywhere. Now when I try other drum modules, like Addictive drums or L-7, I don't get these muted hits. The snare or kick are loud on the first intro hit. The latest song I am working on I would really like to have Jamstix on it but am at a loss here. Any suggesstions?
