Some of the sounds in Jamstix seem to be 1/3 or 1/4 levels of openness whilst slate has them all in 1/5th from what I can see.
is there any way to rectify this? Do we have stuff properly mapped for SSD5 and the ability to reflect that in the note editor?

I'm not sure what you are seeing. If you think something is mapped incorrectly, can you tell me what sound it is, what you see it mapped at in the JS4 kit editor and what sound you think it should be in SSD5?
Also, keep it mind that Jamstix cannot account for changed keys in SSD or change of a mapping preset in SSD. We map to default.

I. Mean jamstix seems to only map. To. Three hihat levels (closed to open) and ssd and sd3 seems to have at least five

Jamstix outputs MIDI CC #4 controller data to control SSD5 hihat opening level. You can watch it by previewing a bar in JS4 with a closed hat while having the "Kit Mapping" window open in SSD5. Turn the 'Open' knob on the hihat note in JS4 and watch as different notes get triggered red in SSD5 through all 5 open stages supported by SSD5.

As a slight variant, specific example to what Mr. Merrill is reporting ... specifically
I'm mapping the Rock - Big Kit to SSD5. It looks like Jamstix says the E4 is a 'china 1'. It appears that note is not remapped in going to SSD5 (while many, if not all other kit elements seem to be correctly mapped). As such, the E4 ends up being a 'hand clap' (Clap Studio 10 STR-Clap). I'm thinking it should be a G0 - China R Sbn 19 AAX - China Edge?
Anyway, I get that it's an incredibly complex effort to get this mapping to translate. In that vein, is there a simple way to cross-walk the mapping via the documentation? It looks like it would be painstaking to verify line by line.
Thanks. As I continue to work more with the product, the more I love it. This was my first effort to map to a 3rd party drum kit and I'm wanting to have confidence in that.

When you load any kit a text file named Keys.txt is generated in the C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\data folder. I find it helpful to print the file out while mapping a kit.

I was able to locate that same file via the Kit menu dropdown, 'Show key map'. That's where I got the info I communicated. However, crosswalking this text file against the 'Mapping' menu in SSD5 would be painstaking.
I'm just looking for recognition that what I'm seeing is indeed a 'mapping error' vs. something I'm doing wrong (which seems unlikely since many keys seem appropriately mapped ... but I'm capable of screwing up some weird stuff). This may be the only error in all of the keymaps ... but it was the first one I tried and that tends to shake your confidence.
Thanks for the reply, though ... I had never been to the data folder. If I could open the '.mdmap' files, that might be of use. I might research that.
