Updated to 4.2.2 and now Reaper can\'t find the Jamstix4.dll
Using Win 7x64
When I started Reaper & JS up to work on a project about 30 min ago I got a notification to click on 'news' or something. I did, and it told me that v4.2.2 had been released. I closed Reaper, opened up the JS manager, and d/l the update (first time I've ever updated JS).
According to the manager everything was ok, but when I restarted Reaper it no longer showed a listing for JS. The JS DLL is there. I see it in the Reaper Plugins folder, and that folder is listed in the path for Reaper to look in, but it doesn't show JS in the VSTi choices when I choose "insert virtual instrument on new track" in Reaper, and it's also not shown in the Instruments and Recently Used, even though I've been using it almost every day.
I also got 2 error messages when starting Reaper (after the JS update, never before), although it still started and let me click around. Both were about missing DLLs..... one for vcruntime140.dll, and the other about msvcp140.dll. Googling said this could be related to Visual C++ so I reinstalled it. The messages haven't come back, but I'm still without JS. I opened up the JS Manager and did a repair install, but still no luck.
Any advice on what to do next?
Edit: The 2 DLLs I mentioned were not in my Windows\System32 folder, even after reinstalling Visual C++. There are instances of both in my Firefox installation though.

I had the exact same issue with beta 3. Open your reaper-vstplugins64.ini file in Notepad and delete the Jamstix 4 entry. Then run Reaper as an Administrator and it will rescan your JS4 upon starting. Then see if JS4 will load properly. You can then put Reaper back to limited privileges. Win 7 x64, APS mode.

Same to me.
After Upgrade to 4.2.2 JS is invisible to Cantabile x86 and x 64
Scanning the plugin folder does not help
After new Installation the same

Please use the manager and set Jamstix to 'Repair' and see if that fixes it. If not, please tell me the timestamp of the latest 'Jamstix Plugin Log xxx' file in c:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\Logs

Tried it... didn't work. It replaced the JS 4 entry in the ini file with the same one I had just deleted. Time to mail Ralph the logs.a_zimuth wrote:I had the exact same issue with beta 3. Edit: Sent the logs, and while I'm waiting for a reply I uninstalled & reinstalled Reaper. When I selected the plugin folder for the JS DLL, I got the message "cannot import 1 of 1 items."
I poked around in Reaper some more, and while I can't load JS, I do see audioM8 listed, and it does load, even though I have no idea what it is.

I'm doing a clean reinstall of Reaper and Jamstix to see if I can recreate the problem.
EDIT: Clean install worked properly.
