"No sound in current kit"

Hi-

I'm not getting any HiHat hits when I compose a bar. When I click on a bar cell, HiHat is there and plays when I click on it. It's assigned to a Paragon HiHat when I click to edit the sound, yet when I pass the mouse over the Right Hand Instrument the status bar says "No Sound in the Current Kit". I'm using the JS Jazz Kit (Normal Ride XL.

The sound seems to be assigned, but nothing I do produces a composed HiHat. I can enter the hits manually, however. What am I missing?

Thank you-

-Susan

EDIT: Actually, none of the kits I load are creating any RH hits. I've tried varying power levels, etc. What am I doing wrong?

Ok, I resolved part of the issue by reloading the Style. It still says "No sound in current kit", but at least it works now! :)

Does anyone know what I did to remove all possibility of RH hits? I'm not going to always want to reload the style to fix this. It wasn't disabled, muted, locked, or anything I can think of.

Thanks-

-Susan

Can you send me a song file that exhibits this behavior?

Hi Ralph-

I didn't keep that one, but if it happens again I'll send you the file.

While I'm here, a question about mapping. I'm using Superior Drummer with NY Avatar for drums and EZX Latin Percussion in a separate instance. I want to substitute a shaker for an existing percussion sound. The MIDI key for the sound is A1, but that's grayed out since it's used by the drums.

The thing is the drums and percussion are going out separate MIDI channels, so shouldn't there be a way to allow using the key again? I'd rather keep the key assignments the way they are in Superior Drummer.

Thanks-

-Susan

EDIT: Hold on! It looks like I *can* reuse those notes as long as they're going out different channels! I'll have to try that. Sorry for the false alarm. :D
