I have a PC with Samplitude PRO. I'm using a Yamaha i88x mlan interface with Midi I/O. I recently bought Jamstix and TruPianos. Should I get a usb keyboard controller like the Studiologic VMK-88PLUS or the VMK-188 Plus, or would a Midi only controller like the Studiologic SL990 XP be a better choice? M-Audio Prokeys was ruled out at this site and others. The Yamaha KX 8 88 is also possible? Is there an advantage to usb?

Keyboard controller usb or Midi?
Someone mentioned that weighted keys would be a problem for VST instruments I think I'm beginning to understand. I recently bought Jamstix suite and Truepianos. Truepianos will probably be enhanced by using weighted keys of the Studiologic SL990XP but Jamstix will be a little sluggish for drum tracks. I guess the answer is to have more than one keyboard controller. In my case, I have a Korg TR-61 at school (I teach an audio elective class at a charter HS) which could be used if I want to do faster keys for many VST instruments. It even has a SCSI Sampling option for reading Harddrive /CD ROM.
