Jamstix & REAPER
I was messing around with using different audio devices in Reaper with a JS2 song open.
Namely, I wanted to use the onboard sound (realtek HD) for playback, and my hercules 16/12FW for recording. I can only use one device for ASIO obviously, but with a bit of fooling around I found on playback that JS2 has now lost ALL the drum information for that song - no kit, no arrangement, no drummers and no hand done fills or beats...
In the end, I use the Herc for ASIO recording and playback, but run it's line outs into the realtek line in.
Any ideas where all that might have gone? Or why?

Make sure to never save the project while REAPER is playing. This will lead to data loss.

Everytime? I'm sure I've been saving while playing.
Anyway, I found that the .RPP - BAK had the drum tracks present. Lucky for me.

Is anyone having problems with the new update 2.5.2 in terms of dragging midi files into Jamstix. It's not working for me and this should be a new option available with this update.
Is this possible in Reaper...?
Thanks

Hi, I'm pretty new to JamStix and Reaper. I was wondering if anyone could help me out?
I have a JamStix "Song" set to Jam with Audio (using the audioM8) and it's all good but I would like to save the "power" envelope, play with it and then feed it back to JamStix.
I've done a little searching but haven't come across the answer.
Is this possible?
Being mostly an "audio" person it might just be that I'm doing something wrong with MIDI routing?
Appreciate any help or pointers!!
Cheers.

Best way to do this is to manually create an automation envelope in REAPER on 'Power Level' since Jamstix does not send write automation data.

Thanks Ralph.
Is that on the development radar at all?
If not, let me give an example of why this would be a great feature;
I have recorded some very dynamic acoustic guitar, changing quite frequently. I liked most of what Jamstix did with the power but when I crescendo on the guitar, I let the strings ring out while playing the quieter part on the strings required, the overall volume takes a little while to settle down and JS bashes it out with gutso for a bar too long.
There's also a few other parts that I'd like to tidy up the power to.
Currently the way I see it, I could ride the volume send to auioM8 or record the Power automation envelope (neither are that easy without a hardware interface) or manually create the envelopes (not looking forward to that).
I could see the ability of JS to send automation data as easily saving me a couple hour in this instance.
I have only use JS in a couple of tracks so far and I'm still getting my head around it all but JamStix really is a gem of a tool!
Thanks again.

We used to have it but took it out because Ableton Live had problems with it. It's a few years ago so I'll see what we can do in JS3.

Hey everyone,
I'm having a problem when I load up JS (using EzDrummer in subhost)and set the routing to 7 channels. I set up my 7 sends to separate tracks, and and it's working fine, but when I load up the project again, there is no sound whatsoever coming out of any of the channels. I can tell Jamstix is doing something, because the midi is being triggered on the VU meters, but no sound is coming onto and of the channels. It just randomly disappears. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using Reaper 3.15
