Found another small bug I think. On the mixer, if you drag a fader to the bottom, when you come to move it back, JS still thinks the fader is in the middle position so you have to click there to grab it. JS never seems to update where the fader actually is, it just always assumes its in the initial starting position.
Thanks!!

Jamstix 3.6 OSX - Final RC Available
Next time this happens, please not the following:Tom_H wrote: I see errors both on the Mac as well as on my fast and new PC (6 core i7 @ 4.1 GHz, 32 GB RAM, Windows 8.1.U x64) when loading an existing project with Jamstix (latest version) in it. The GUI is white and I see: ERROR: Cannot open core event. Contact support...
This is the case for several betas. If I reload the Project, it usually works.
a) Was the Jamstix server window open BEFORE you loaded the project
b) If not, at the time of the 'open core event' error, is the Jamstix server window now open?

I had the same error when I opened a cubase session and tried to get into jamstix. Not every time...like 50/50, but I found out that the error never occurs if i close the server window before starting cubase.

ith VST in Live 9', 'Had just encountered the same error message as my two pre-posters above. On my Mavericks MacMini, loading the VSTi in Ableton Live 9.1.2 with an already started JamServer app *before* starting up Live gives me the "ERROR: Cannot open core event. Contact support..." message in a completely white window/GUI. Interestingly the server windows shows me "Plugins: 0" instead of "Plugins: 1".
When i start Live normally, put a Jamstix VSTi on a track and let itself start up the JamServer, all is wonderful (exept the quirky GUI behavior with moving the white background window "underneath" the static GUI itself).
BTW: The AU version is really buggy, i can't click anything in the GUI because on every click the GUI switches to the server app and disappears in Live. Clicking into a Live window again gives me the Jamstix GUI back until next click:-( Changing the plugin windows behavior prefs in Live (i.e. autohide or multiple plug windows on/off) don't change anything.

See if that fixes it.
Can you double-check the error message since that specific message exists only in the Windows version of JS?vaikl wrote:On my Mavericks MacMini, loading the VSTi in Ableton Live 9.1.2 with an already started JamServer app *before* starting up Live gives me the "ERROR: Cannot open core event. I swear that the exact error message was there on my mac in Live with the VST version! But after i had added your Live code for the jamstix3.ini the error disappears and Jamstix loads normally, even if i start the server *before* starting Live.Ralph [RZ] wrote: Can you double-check the error message since that specific message exists only in the Windows version of JS?
That doesn't fix the bug, the AU window still disappears when i click onto it.Please edit /Documents/jamstix3/jamstix3.ini via TextEdit and add this to the end of the file:

a.) On my new PC: no, this usually only happens the first time I load such a project (no server window there). Closing the Project (leaving Bitwig open) and open it again it works. Closing Bitwig and opening it again and load the Project, also works. Reboot and load Bitwig and the Project: Error.Ralph [RZ] wrote:Next time this happens, please not the following:Tom_H wrote: I see errors both on the Mac as well as on my fast and new PC (6 core i7 @ 4.1 GHz, 32 GB RAM, Windows 8.1.U x64) when loading an existing project with Jamstix (latest version) in it. Is it a timing problem maybe? Loading taking longer when the libraries aren't in RAM already?
On the MacBookPro: No. As I wrote, I lost a long bug report to a browser crash and can't remember the exact Error. In that case, I dropped Jamstix into a Bitwig Instrument Track from the internal Browser several times and each time got that White Window with an error. Deleted Jamstix, droped it in again. Something like 5 or 6 times before it "took". I can't reproduce this now so it may have been a fluke on first run?
b.) Will report if it happens again. I'm not totally sure anymore.
How it works on the Mac is a bit irritating - I can close Jamstix from the Menu while it is on a track, which then leaves me with an empty Jamstix-Window without GUI...
When I close Bitwig after that, the empty Jamstix Window hangs with a spinning wheel and I can't AppleMenu->Force-Quit it because there is no entry for it...
Not sure what the reasons behind these design decisions are, but hope it works out.
Cheers,
Tom

Ok...i was a bit mistaken about the exact text from the "core" error.
Here are screenshots from last time i got the error...

I tried to find a pattern but its totally random when the error occurs.
Sometimes the server just dont pick up the plugin.
Hope that will help
OSX 10.9.2 / Cubase 7.5.20
P.S.
Only had JS for 24hrs...but I love it allready

ding_dong, you have saved my day, i really thought that Ralph won't believe me
That's exactly the message i got on my first load of Jamstix VST in Live 9, when i had loaded the server before Live and the plugin.
