Has anyone tried JS3 beta in Cubase 5 / 64 bit?

I really need to upgrade my DAW so would like to make the leap to i7 / Windows 7 / 64 bit, but don't want to loose access to Jamstix!

I use the i7 920 processor, Win 7 64 bit, 32bit Cubase 5, JS 2. Runs like a champ. Havent tried JS 3 beta, but it should work if you use 32 bit Cubase.

I just made the leap to Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, upgraded my old e6400 to a Q9650 and 3gb ram to 7gb...and a cheap 9600GT for video.

Hope to test JS2 and 3 under Live 8.1.1 soon.

Warning: If you are parallel testing an XP setup and Win 7 on different hard drives it is safer to completely unplug the unsused OS disk when you boot up. Their is a very nasty feature in XP/7 that at some point kicks in a chkdsk on drives that are accessed via both os's...and can potentially trash the partition.
I had to reimage my XP OS after win 7 did this.

Bummer, and good luck with that.

For those of us who recently purchased JS and are learning on v3 and using the betas exclusively, can we assume that we'll be at least getting updates before the betas expire? I'd hate to have to go back to v2...

Yes, we will keep the Betas running until the day of release.

finally trying js3 and i must say the only thing I can get out of it are the drumsticks sound, the rest just doesn't play. I load a jazz kit or a metal kit from the XL pack I have and .... nothing, only drumsticks.

I am trying it out in reaper, only using 2 outputs. (I also tried loading all 16 outputs but it makes no difference). When I assign all instrument to outputs 1 and 2 I still get nothing more than drumsticks.

Obviously I'm missing something important to do for this demo ?

ah yeah 26 sounds missing.

but i've got the js2 XL pack installed together with the stock kit.. and before the drumstick was working but now nothing is

Hmm, I'm trying this out on my entertainment system which isn't really the way i want to go forward, it's just for testing. But on that system is kaspersky antivirus 2010 and when I start jamsticks (in 32bit reaper: doent seem to work in 64bit) , i get:

4/03/2010 12:31:18 Detected: PDM.Suspicious registry value C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\REAPER\REAPER.EXE reaper

21/02/2010 9:46:58 Detected: PDM.Keylogger kernel mode memory patch Absent

obviously false positives but i'm going to try to run js3 beta without KAV working
