Hi guys,
reading the last posts I understand that Audio Jam using AudioM8 is still working for you?! Strangely enough it's not working here since a few betas (don't know exactly since when).
I remember with older versions that it was not possible to turn the power knob when it was set to Audio Jam. Now it's possible, the knob keeps its value when the mouse button is released and doesn't react to audio levels.
Also with older version I kinda liked the VU-meter in AudioM8, as I could see that some audio signal was coming in. Now it's only a white area reading "Audio data analyzer for Jamstix ...".
Ralph, do you plan to bring back some kind of meter here (maybe in JS4)? Would be great.
I also tried Midi Jam, which I didn't really use in the past, but I think the behaviour here is a little strange as well. The power knob reacts, but keeps the last value and doesn't fall back to a lower value when I stop playing. Is it the same for you or is it working differently?

Jas_Lan: the Cubase issue was related to a change in how the version number was reported to the host. Most hosts don't care about it but, unfortunately, Cubase decided that it should not send any song data to Beta 22 due to the version # change. This is now fixed in Beta 23 and all your existing Cubase projects should load fine.
Ralph, I just realized that also with Beta 23 the song data in older Cubase projects is lost. Seems to happen only with projects that are a few years old. Newer ones seem to load fine. Didn't encounter this issue up to now because I rarely open old projects, but also some templates are affected that I still use now and then.
Maybe you need to look into this issue once more?!
@all: could you try to load such old Cubase projects and report back? Thank you.

Beta 23 reports versions to Cubase as V3.5 did so all should be well for projects since V3.5. I'm sorry if projects made with older versions don't load for you. IMHO it's not very smart of Cubase to not send data to a plugin based on version. At the very least it should give you an option. The way it does it now is to make the plugin data completely inaccessible. There's nothing we can do because if we report a different version for older projects, it may break loading of newer ones

I don't know. I'm still on Beta 17 as it seems to be the last one that things worked ok at. I'm using it for live gigs, so I'm a bit afraid to try the later betas if they break to much. A few minor bugs don't worry me, but if the behaviour is totally broken for a key function I have to revert which is a bit time consuming atm.

Hi Ralph,
I understand the problem with Cubase. Steinberg seems to handle some things differently than others which doesn't seem to be a good idea, at least sometimes.
Thank you for clarifying this.
Would be great if you could comment on the AudioM8-issue also. Is it not working currently? Then I will wait patiently until it will work again. Or should it work? Then I would appreciate any hint on how to troubleshoot this.

audio jamming should work. We're looking into this so there may be changes in the next beta.

Hi Ralph,
thank you for this information. So then it's strange that it is currently not working on my system (in both hosts that I use, Cubase and Ableton Live).
I will wait for the next Beta and report back.

Ralph,
Audio Jamming is THE killer feature of Jamstix in my humble opinion, and one of your major differentiators from the competition (which is getting better at generating excellent variable sounding drum tracks).
Please please and PLEASE move jamming to the top of the "Must Work" features.

Beta 26 is now out.
[b:18b69922c2]sonicviz & max.noise[/b:18b69922c2]: please check out the new audio jam behavior. We'll update the manual soon but wanted to have this out for testing first.
You now have two additional controls in the OPTIONS-JAMMING page instead of the old 'response rate' knob. Think of them as attack and release of an envelope follower. 'Audio Rise Delay' is the attack time and 'Audio Fall Delay' is the release time. Also, the settings are now saved globally.
Play with it a bit and let me know what you think. Thanks!
