I'm sure this must have been asked and answered somewhere, but if so I've skipped over it somehow...

Will JS3 be backward compatable with JS2?
i.e. will I be able to migrate to JS3 within a project that already has a song defined in JS2 (without having to start from scratch)?

Hi Guitarfish-

I asked Ralph about this and he said JS3 can load JS2 songs but not vice versa.

Another upgrade question:

I have many expansion packs for JS2; will I be able to use them in JS3 without having to buy them again in JS3 format?

I mean, does JS3 look in the JS2 data folder for packs and sounds?

Thanks,
Mario

Not sure if this has been answered, but I'm thinking of getting the JS2 Studio version and would like to know if the free upgrade is like for like e.g. JS2 Studio (top of the range) free upgrade to JS3 Studio (or whatever the top of the range version is called) including all associated styles and sounds.

Hi Damien,
You will be able intall the expansion packs in JS2 & JS3. The kits are seperate downloads from the plugin it self so you will install via Intall Pak in both version 2 & 3.

Yes, your free JS3 upgrade would bring you to 'Jamstix 3 Studio'.

I know you're not a doctor, Ralph, but can you help me with this nasty, disruptive cough?

:P  :) :D

I guess you're too busy IMPROVING THE PRODUCT and ADDING NEW FEATURES and DOING THINGS THE RIGHT WAY and BEING A GOOD DEVELOPER to offer a pre-order.

It's being discussed but the main argument right now is that $49 for the upgrade is just too cheap to discount for a pre-order considering that you not only get a new plugin but also a new drum kit, new players and new styles. Usually the latter items alone would cost $49 as a Pak...
