Jamstix 3 Information

Post by BitFlipper »

Ralph,

Sorry if this has been mentioned before - I went back a few pages but didn't find anything...

What are the chances of getting a native 64-bit version in addition to the 32-bit version of JS3? I am currently in the process of eliminating as many 32-bit only plugins as I can since I want to do all future songs in 64-bit (I already ran into out-of-memory problems in the past). I am trying to avoid using BitBridge/jBridge as much as I can, and it would be great to get a native 64-bit version of JS3.

Ralph, for JS3, do you plan to do some testing with jBridge? JS2 currently seems to work ok in BitBridge but it does not work in jBridge (the transport does not seem to go into play mode when it should). In general if one can use jBridge it is usually better because it solves some other BitBridge related issues.

Since there seems to be quite a lot of people making the switch to 64-bit at this point, it seems like a good idea to at least make sure JS3 works well using BitBridge and jBridge.

Are you still planning to release JS3 on OSX eventually? If we buy JS3 in anticipation of getting OSX when it comes out will that be reality or is OSX now going to be JS4 too, if at all?

Out of interest, anything extra planned for 'unplugged' or folky styles?

Dewdman42: JS3 owners will get the OSX version for free, regardless of what it will be called.

Guitarfish: once JS3 is out, we'll finish up our DrummerPak project, which will contain more drummers and styles.

Ralph,

I know you are probably tired at this point of answering this question, but do you have any new info on the current ETA (since Nov is almost over)?
