I would love to get my hands on any Ringo stuff. He's so good with being very minimal but supporting the song to the max. He's also a minor Fill god, IMO!
BTW - in JS3 there is a Style called Country Ballad, and I think it can be shuffled, so maybe that's what you need!
That song is mostly percussion and not easy to do.
A 'Manu' model is a good possibility in the future but will be focused on drumset performance, not percussion.

Does anyone know of an online (or even print for that matter) resource that discusses drumming nomenclature upon which the Jamstix model is based, and how the different elements interact? That would be something I'd actually be willing to pay for!

I play bass. Years ago I took weekly drum lessons. We did rudiments, sight reading of different beats and fills, and playing covers. I've found some useful lessons on YouTube.
With that said I would also be willing to pay a Jamstix expert to get me up to speed! Maybe we can band together for a web based lesson.
I will be playing guitar on Po-Jama People by Frank Zappa at the next King Crimson Camp (https://www.threeofaperfectpair.com/) next Summer. It will be my 6th time down there.
I would like suggestion for Drummer to approximate Chester Thompson (Zappa, Genesis, Phil Collins). I don't think JS Phil would really do the job, right?
Based upon the Drum chops in the song itself I would start with Dave, Bill & maybe Tony (he's surprising sometimes). I think different models would work better in different sections of that song.
If you're trying to re-create a carbon copy, you are in for a hand editing nightmare and have my heartfelt condolences.

I was hoping to find a midi file and let JS interpret it but it's not such a well known song. Maybe I will get another Zappa midi file (to get the complexity) and jam with it.
My other strategy will be to play with phase cancelling and try to remove the solo. Should be 80% possible...
I don't know if you have Ableton Live 10 or not,but you could import any wonderful FZ audio song into live,convert it and extract it as a midi file.Then import it into Jamstix.
