Jamstix & Ableton Live

Post by 7G »

The most weird thing is that after installation when i launch Live it detects it but is not showing it on VST folder.
I don't know maybe it has to do with administrator rights or something and the new way that Windows 7 work with security.

Did you try loading Live via 'Run As Administrator'?

Hi
I have found the solution.I have realized that live 8 was not listing the extra packs bonzo, jamcussion and metal pack.then I checked myself in the finder.I did not see them as well.I checked the data folder and there were no sound showing in the folder they were like hidden .I checked the compatibility files and all the missing thinks appeared.I copied the hidden files to their appropriate folders.now everything works fine

Anyone with the same problem?Any solutions?

Thanks
Hi,
i had the same problem, and after reinstalling win7 i found the solution to install Jamstix2 to another location than the 'program files' folder. I now have created my vstplugins folder in the root of another drive and everything is working out-of-the-box. No need to run anything as 'administrator'. The reason is that write-access to the 'program files' folder in Windows 7/Vista always needs to be confirmed by Windows UAC.
Maybe it would also help to disable UAC, but i did not try it.

Yes, it appears that installing outside of the PF folder is a good idea because of all the interference Vista and W7 are running there.

Does anybody know how to set up a multi template for jamstix in Live 8.04?
I downloaded the jamstix live 5 templates someone posted here but no joy for me.

I've had this working in Reaper for ages, splitting Jamstix output to 8 outs so I can have individual effects on each drum kit component.

As a new Live user I can't figure out how the individual kit channel routing is done. In Reaper if you set Jamstix as 8 outs in the kit they show up in the routing matrix, but in Live I just get the one send Jamstix?

Any clues?
A bump for this.

Does anyone have the answer? I am also interested in a solution.

You need to create audio for Kick snare etc.Kick on 2 snare 3 toms 4 etc.In Jamstix's kit set kick to output 2 snare to 3 etc.In the kick insert audio, go audio from Jamstix and underneith js3 out 2.In snare insert the same just js3 out 3 etc.I have percussion and ambience both on js3 out 8.I then have a drum submix drum insert audio in and have that track armed with a glue things together comp in there to with a limiter set to 0 ceiling.I put a utility plug in set to invert on each insert to get the volumes right.Eq on kick 65hz boost +11.db In 5K region boost 8db.Comp ratio 4.57 attack 5.47.Release 325 with makeup gain peaking around 6 db.Snare EQ 217hz boost 5 db,boost a bit around 1.70k and 5k regions to. and comp ratio 2.5 attack 7ms release 1.00s and so on,just a few of my settings,ABS floor toms EQ and comp are pretty good just set the make up gain in comp to around 6 db with the threshold button . Just EQ on hi hats, none on ride.EQ on cymbals, and percussion.Hope this helps a bit.Save it as a template in live options file/folder save current set as default.[/img]
