Getting somewhere after some experimentation. I'm realizing this hanging problem is related to whether or not NI Maschine has run.

I got your emails and it appears to be a driver issue because you're sometimes getting a BSOD. A BSOD cannot be directly created by Jamstix, it's always a hardware or driver issue.
What is your audio driver?

I have a M-audio delta audiophile 24/96 with the latest drivers 6.0.8. But I did not have a crash or a blue screen.
What else can I do? I mean it is not the newest card but.....
I thought about buying a focusrite usb interface can this be the solution?

As a first step, try the free ASIO4ALL driver.

The E-MU 0404 USB has pretty limited driver selection. One for Vista, which I had major problems with, and I've been using a Win 7 x64 beta driver. The product line got 'disappeared' by Creative, I don't think I'll ever get a real W7x64 driver. I had some major problems with the ASIO4ALL driver, but I'll give that another go if you think that will help.
Appreciate the support.

The intended goal would be to eliminate the random clicks, right?
I have a (pretty old) usb-interface. A Tascam us-122. I installed the drivers in compatibility mode for vista x64 and it worked.
But again, this was introduced when I started using Jamstix (which I love meanwhile) and want to stay using. It only occours with the use of jamstix.
I will try the asio4all and the usb interface and keep you informed.
Shall I send you the rzdlog.txt-file for every distinct driver? Shall I adhere to something special while testing?
Only to be sure: There should not be any crackling or clicking when closing the gui?

Crackling when open/closing the GUI would be okay but not while playing. Send me rzdlog.txt if ASIO4ALL doesn't help and also if you then try the TASCAM interface and it doesn't help. All you need for testing it letting it playback and listening for crackles.

Please disable 'Load-On-Demand' in the JS3 Option and see if that helps.

Still crashes on the track removal. It's much more frequent now, nearly every time. No longer seems to matter if I run Maschine or not. Maybe I got a false positive on that one earlier. Any other suggestions?
