The Jamstix Classic Style is a great example. It took me a while, and had to read it several times over before I realized that the all the dots/circles in the grid are ALL notes. Top 4 are the beats, the three under each beat is also notes
Don't forget that you can also mousewheel the "dots" to adjust the velocity of the hits. I did not realize that for a VERY long time until jas_lan pointed it out in a post.
