Kits won\'t save properly........

I've been having the same trouble mapping a kit for BFD ECO, its actually a kit someone uploaded here in the forum but after checking it out it seemed some of the snare articulations were wrong.
It may be that they mapped the kit correctly but the maping didn't stick when they saved the kit.

So i've been tryint to fix it, i started with the snare, mapped the articulations as for BFD ECO, saved and over write the existing kit.
But after closing jamstix, reopening JS3 and loading the new BFD ECO kit the snare articulations are wrong.
Mainly the snare drag won't seen to hold for some reason.

I'm using Reaper 3.78 & JS 3.2.8 on a win 32 bit system.

Cheers

PS: Ralph, could you explain the correct way to load a kit to send midi only to another drum vsti, superior 2 for example.
I'm just not sure if im doing it right or the best way.

That's the exact same problem I'm having Wolf, I started using one of the provided SD kits, then changed the mapping to what I needed. Even when I save the kit over & over, it still reverts back to the original way it was........

I even reverted back to Reaper 4.01, same thing....
Un-installed/re-installed Jamstix without the update, same thing......

Last night, I re-installed Reaper 4.10, & the hi-hats saved correctly, but now the tom articulations are wrong (only the SD rimshot/ JS offset).....

Maybe I'm doing something wrong too, I dunno. Send the log file to Ralph a little while ago, & I'm positive he'll figure something out for us.....

I'm totally amazed with this software, makes drum programming actually fun, instead of tedious. And, I've only started using it's potential, again, really awesome software Ralph!!!!!!

Make sure that you do not change the MIDI key if the articulation says <click to load sound>. Select 'Subhost...' for the sound, then change the key and save. Let me know if that was the problem.

I'll also try to get something into the next update that helps with it on the GUI side.

So i dicided to map a kit for BFD ECO from scratch and it seems th have worked perfectly !! :D

I started with no drumkit loaded and used the right click load option to load the drums & cymbals i needed and mapped all the articulations from there and it saved & recalls fine, all is good !!

Thanks for the info on modifying existing kits Ralph, i'll try here asap.

Cheers

I think the key is to make sure you don't adjust anything with '<click to load sound>'. Select a sound or 'Subhost' first, then adjust. The next Beta will disable the controls to help with this.

Well, I feel like a complete idiot, but it's all good, because it's not the first time, & won't be the last..... Finally figured out what I was doing wrong after reading the posts in this thread a few times tonight.....

Sorry for all the confusion Ralph, thanks for the help, saved the kit (started with no kit pieces, added the pieces via "subhost", one by one....thanks Wolf for the explanation.....btw, are you the same Wolfman from the Reaper forum????), mapped it, & it works!!!!

Again, I thought it may have been something I was doing wrong, so I apologize again for all the trouble  ....

I do have to say, Jamstix is pretty deep/complicated, but the results are better than anything I've ever used for drum programming!!!!!

Thanks again Ralph for all you time & trouble, you're the man!!!!

Cool Wolf,
I've saw quite a few Reaperites here already, & I've only been here a week or so!!! 8)

I do agree, Ralph goes out of his way to make sure we're happy!!!

And I can't believe what a great program JS is, I'd read in the Reaper forum time after time, but always thought "yeah, sure.....", but it's true. I've only been using this a week or so, & I don't see me ever going back to using the midi loops again.....

Thanks Ralph!!!!!
