You know, at this point, with all the piracy and cracked software, on of the reasons I bought Cubase was for the dongle’s ability to keep the software integrity. Meaning, Cubase can’t be “cracked” because of the dongle. Actually, I know they can crack the base version and artist, but I also have read/know they cannot successfully crack [10.5] Pro now, and all the cracked versions keep on crashing.

I also feel its important these days to support who you go to for your needs. In other words, if you use X product everyday, and you had/have the option to use pirated or cracked software or you can support them and buy the product, I feel its important to do that. That’s partly why I wanted to buy Jamstix Ultimate, because Ralph was good enough to offer me a lot of customer service and support, and I wanted to support his brand. So Cubase does that with the dongle, and I think it’s good, because it keeps the software secure.

I read, Cubase, being made in and for Windows, is the most powerful DAW and 10.5 pro was written in and for windows 10 x64, and I agree, I don’t need all that processing power, but I don’t mind having it either lol ;)

I agree with you about the piracy issue. I don't have or use any cracked software and I don't want to pay more for my software to cover the cost of theft so, yes, I want them to keep it secure, and if the dongle is the best way, then I don't mind it and can deal with it. If they could come up with a way that satisfies their security concerns without the dongle, I would be for it. Again, I am not a dongle hater and I actually defend it on the Cubase forum from those people who throw fits of anger over it. Mainly because it is just lame to buy software that requires a dongle and then complain about it. If you couldn't deal with it then you shouldn't have bought the software.

So, it's just a mild, "wouldn't mind not having the dongle" for me. It's not even really that high on my list buy I guess I just threw it out there because I couldn't think of other things on my wish list for Cubase. I used to want better video features but then I got a really great deal on Vegas Pro 15 (I think it was last year so it was a couple of versions old and I got it from HumbleBundle for $25!) and now I think it would be impossible to get Cubase even close to being any sort of a replacement for a full featured video editor. Anyway, I am looking forward to C11 to see what is new. I have gotten every full numbered version since 8 and started on 5 (I totally skipped version 7) I have just gotten so used to Cubase that I am very comfortable with it. I actually own Studio One and it's nice and I think could handle everything I do but I ended up not really using it, but maybe someday I will try it out some more.
I'm rambling....

Really nice Jason. Great intonation on your bends, excellent phrasing and nice sounding mix. I've never heard Bonamasso's version so I'll have to check it out. You're right to feel proud of it, you did a great job on this one. (Nice Guitar collection also.)

Thanks Doug!

I was watching it myself and the audio and video were a little out of sync. It must be the streaming though because the originals on my hard drive are perfectly synced.

Actually that was a huge feature, the video+audio import/export in 10.5 - apparently you can edit both together and export them as a single file.

But please, by all means, I asked because I was interested, so it’s not a ramble ;)

Yes, but not “video edit” in the way you can do things with Vegas. It is impossible to compare.

oh for sure, I wasnt comparing it to a "DVW" (Digital video workstation), but i was suggesting it was a Pro tools killer according to the reviews....

i mean cubase is/always was the most powerful DAW/best coding, but its complexity and basic interface have caused it to lose a lot of clientele
