Kevin

I used SSD4 Slate Metal 05 kit. I added a touch of UAD EL7 Fatso SR and Neve 1073 on the same track with JS4 and SSD4.

Normally I Build Multichannel Routing in Reaper and treat each kit piece if needed but for some reason (probably time) I didn't do it that way on this song.

I did not tweak anything at all on SSD4.

Again I am really sorry I took so long to reply.

The glory goes to JS IMO though. JS will make any sample library sound great IME.

Good song. Really like what you did with it. JS really can do metal very well.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Ralph is right in that music is very spiritual, that's why it affects us the way it does. It's just on a whole 'nother level.

Listened to Idea 0. Man that needs some words and vocals on it!! Really good work on that too. JS on that? our playing is really tasteful.

Listening to Idea 1. Another nice tune that needs some vocals on there!!

Thanks Grem. I am working with a singer now. Many of the ideas on my page have lyrics started, melodies and that but I am not a singer. If you do not believe me or need a real laugh, listen to the tune at the bottom called Good Old Days that I wrote as a tribute to my dad. WARNING! Swallow whatever beverage you have before hitting play.

Jamstix was used on all of those tracks. I really believe that Jamstix has opened a whole new world for me. Plucking out drums beats on a MIDI keyboard never did it for me. Also I was terrible at it.

Well, I did not laugh, but you are right, you are not singer. But three things I can tell you:

-You sing 100 times better than I. I envy your singing.
-You are a good composer and instrument player though.
-Honestly, this singing fits very well with this kind of music.

thanks Knopf. I never thought I would hear that. I am really looking forward to getting some real vocals laid down soon.

I haven't listened to the song you wanted me to yet, but knopf's response tells me it's not the worst I have heard!

Another thing I have learned is that what I think sounds bad, others love.

I never liked playing drums on a keyboard either. I was here when this all started. For me, with my job, family, and life in general, the thought of having my band and studio inside a computer was a dream come true. And I dove in head first. When I hit the shallow bottom I realized it ain't gonna be that easy!! I bought anything within budget that would help me create a drum trk. It worked to a certain degree.

But I stuck with it, and I have become decent with it, but not really satisfied. I found the drum trks I was made I found myself playing 'to' them, and not 'with' them. I thought, isn't that what I did all those years playing live? I was playing to a drummer, right? Wrong! I realized I was playing 'with' a drummer. I had to accept my drum trks did not capture the feel that I was so desperately seeking.

When I got JS, the first trk I did with it my wife ask who was playing the drums? I said me on Jamstix. She said that sounds like real drums. And I was sold right there!!

I say, for all the things that JS does, Ralph should be charging twice the price.

I think I had one person make a comment about Jamstix on my tracks that was not 'sounds like a real drummer.' Needless to say, we did not work together :) He was a drummer and I think he was jealous of 1s and 0s.

Jamstix really has changed my life and work flow.
