Fills spilling into the next bar

Post by Burakov_Anatoly »

Normally, Jamstix always creates fills that end on the next bar. However, live drummers sometimes keep playing the fill well into the next bar. think Voodoo Child - it has two heavy accented beats in the bar, and a lot of times Jimi Hendrix's drummer will play a fill but won't stop at first beat, instead spilling over into the next accented beat.

it would've been nice if it was possible to do with Jamstix. it is somewhat possible with some elements of certain drummers (e.g. Mark), but what they come up with is 1) not related to the fill, 2) has a potential to show up in a random place without a prior fill at all, and 3) are pretty boring and samey sounding.

Have you tried Extract From Other Player>Aaron>Accent - Fill Extensions? It will be in the Accent window after you add it.

Well, it "works", but again, a bit repetitive - it's almost always playing the same thing. It would be nice to have more variation on this element. So, it'll do for the time being, but i hope this feature will improve.

on another note, Aaron is actually a great drummer, so thanks for that!
