Playing imported midi with a drummer model

Post by tombuur »

I used to prefer Jamstix to drum midi libraries that required auditioning loads of midi to find what I wanted. Superior 3 changed all that. Now I can tap or paste a pattern with kick/snare and find the best matches played by a real drummer and easily edit the result in many ways. So I haven't used Jamstix 4 even though I upgraded just out of respect for a product I used to like.

Anyway. I now consider using Jamstix to add the style of certain drummer to my final drum tracks to make it sound as if everything was recorded with same drummer.

However, if I load more than two bars of midi, Jamstix behaves strangely. E.g. in the second bar it leaves out the snare completely. No matter which drummer model I choose. Actually they all sound the same, so I am not sure if the model has changed at all. Can Jamstix only take a single or two bars, or can Jamstix actually take a whole track and apply the style of a drummer to it?

The style import method is not very intuitive. I wish there were a drag-and-drop midi function.
