Hi,
I'm totally new to Jamstix. Got to say that I am really impressed with the grooves I can squeeze out of it (more by accident that design at the moment). But it's fantastic when jamming with friends.
I am having a problem with groove generation though, or at least, things are not working as I expect them to.
If I change something like the busyness of a kick, the whole part is regenerated - and by that I mean all elements (kick, snare, hats, toms, cyms) in the groove, accents, and fills.
My expectation is that if I am adjusting a kick parameter, then only the kicks should be modified across the part, or am I missing something obvious?
Is there a way to recompose an individual element across a part ?
Cheers

Jamstix composes in an organic way, so to speak. Many composition rules generate notes for multiple kit pieces at once or compose for one piece based on what another piece is doing. That's why everything gets recomposed at once.

Hi Ralph, thanks for the quick response.Ralph [RZ] wrote:Jamstix composes in an organic way, so to speak. Many composition rules generate notes for multiple kit pieces at once or compose for one piece based on what another piece is doing. That's why everything gets recomposed at once.
Ok, so that is a little frustrating - sometimes most elements are just right, but only one needs a little tweaking here and there. I guess this is why I am accidentally stumbling on to grooves, rather than being able to finely hone them...
Is there any way to lock a limb to prevent changes to an element?
Cheers

You can freeze individual brain elements by right-clicking on their header and selecting 'Freeze'. However, this feature is currently disabled. It will be available with release 4.2.0 Beta 4.
