Incorrect note mapping bug or glitch?

Post by miden_1 »

Okay so I am assigning TRG notes to control parts in JS 3. On my controller keyboard, with no transposition being used - ie bog standard 88note range - when I select a pad that is assigned to C1, JS3 auto assigns it to C3?

Consequently when I tap the pad I am getting no repsonse as a TRG in JS3. Is this a glithc in the system, or am I missing something and doing this the wrong way?

Need help as live control of drum parts is vital to waht I am trying to achieve.

Thanks

Hi miden_1, In the "Options" tab window check the "Use Yamaha Pitch Convention" (not sure of the exact option name). That should correct this.

Incorrect note mapping bug or glitch?

Hey y'all. Lovin' version 4!!! :) I am using the TRG MIDI key feature to control song parts (works well). The Jamstix_4 manual Section 15 (Transport Controls) suggests that "patch changes (1 for part 1, 2 for part 2 etc.)" can also work for this part-switching function.

[b:226282565c]Question: Should I be able to use MIDI Program Change messages with the TRG-part change function?[/b:226282565c] I am using an Akai MPK mini for this control.

Yes you can using Liveloops. Read the Liveloops section on page 59 of the Jamstix 4 User Manual for more info.
