Any progress on the AU/VST Limitation with Logic Pro X and Midi Out? Also, do i just re-run the downloader if I want to install the VSTi version on my mac. I just bought Ableton. I assume midi out is working fine on that program. Also if you need a beta tester for Logic and Ableton in OSX, I'd be happy to put 4 through its paces.
Thanks Mr. Z!!!

Logic only uses the. AU format. For me personally on my Mac, I use Studio One for the VST format, and it also supports AU as well.Nathan_Barton wrote:Any progress on the AU/VST Limitation with Logic Pro X and Midi Out? I don't mind testing on Sonar as well if you're looking. Been using Jamstix for a couple of years now so know my way around it quite well.

Jamstix 4 Information
Thought I'd post another screenshot of new things in Jamstix 4. Please note it's still in development/internal Beta, though progressing nicely now, and therefore some visual things are still likely to change.
As you know, the default GUI size of Jamstix 4 is smaller than Jamstix 3, since it uses screen space more efficiently. Therefore, the compact skin mode has been replaced by a new 'Wide View' option. If you have a large or second monitor or don't mind the increased width, this mode gives you several advantages:
- view and manage drums and Jamcussion kit at the same time
- EQs and compressors are shown at the same time
- brain elements have more space, requiring no scrollbar most of the time
- bar editor cells are wider when using time signatures with more than 4 quarters per bar

I know there's no arguing about taste. But I like the way the kits are displayed in JS3 and find the rendered CAD style a bit cheap and cheesy looking. The function to rotate it and view it from any angle isn't something I have ever missed.
I would, however, appreciate to see more bars of my song than the 10 bars shown in the view. Hiw about giving me a way to drag and drop bars, select multiple bars by shift-clicking and do stuff to them simultaneously? That IS something I have missed a lot.

I think most of you will like the 3D kit once you can get your hands on the Beta. Other products have nice, highly detailed static renders and simulate cymbal movement etc. via cycling through multiple images. The Jamstix 4 kit is a real-time 3D engine using DirectX (and OpenGL on OSX). I made a quick-&-dirty video to see what it's like in motion:

It looks good in motion, but what are the functional benefits of being able to rotate and zoom like that?

I agree. Please don't delay release of JS4 because of this. I don't care about this at all. What I DO care is functional improvements and improvements in usability. By the looks of it, I am still limited to see only all of 10 bars of the song. Can I select certain sections and copy/paste/drag them around?

There's no delay because of the virtual kit. It simply was the most 'visual' thing to post for screenshots. There are lots of functional improvements in JS4. As far as drag-&-drop of bars is concerned, can you send me an email with the exact things and workflow you are looking for?
