this varies per DAW. you will need to look at the docs for your DAW on how to do it.Slooky_ wrote:How do I change the power knob during a song and make it change automatically?
I use Reaper and it very simple with Reaper. In Reaper, it is a Track Envelope called Power Level and is available on the track that has Jamstix added as a VST.

Hello blespo- first, I want to thank you for the reply. I do use Reaper myself and read up in the Reaper User Guide. From what I read I can move the power knob, with the envelopes , and that worked, however now I want to change the DYN knob. So what is the envelope for that parameter?b_blespo wrote:this varies per DAW. you will need to look at the docs for your DAW on how to do it.Slooky_ wrote:How do I change the power knob during a song and make it change automatically?

i am not in front of DAW right now but the parameters that can be automated should be listed in the same section as the power knob. i have only automated the power knob. not sure if Dyn knob is in the envelope section or not.Slooky_ wrote:Hello blespo- first, I want to thank you for the reply. The DYN parameter does not appear to be an option for automation. I am running 3.6.1 and do not see it listed.Slooky_ wrote:Hello blespo- first, I want to thank you for the reply. Perhaps 4.0 might have it?

You can right-click on the DYN knob and assign a MIDI controller to it, which you can then automate in the host.

Thanks Ralf and Blespo! Ralf I am not really sure how to do that. I;m guessing I have to do that in Reaper. Do I need a midi controller device?Ralph [RZ] wrote:You can right-click on the DYN knob and assign a MIDI controller to it, which you can then automate in the host.

It's more a Reaper question than a Jamstix one.Slooky_ wrote:Ralf I am not really sure how to do that.

One way that works would be to assign the dyn knob to a controller ( in Jamstix, right click the knob and select one of the numbers), then on the track in reaper that has JS, Create a midi item. Open the item, and click the little plus sign at the lower left panel of the midi editor. From the list that appears, select the cc that corresponds to the number you chose in JS. Draw your automation in the cc lane.Slooky_ wrote:Thanks Ralf and Blespo! Ralf I am not really sure how to do that. I;m guessing I have to do that in Reaper. There's also a way to use track automation via the reaper plugin called ReaControlMidi, but I'm not certain how to make that work without being at my computer (on iPad atm ).
