Just reinstall them using the Install Pak button in the Kit or Mixer window. In OSX I think the Download manager takes care of that automatically.
OK, will do, and thanks again, a_zimuth!

Jamstix 3.6 - Now Available (WIN & OSX)

Post by bosone »

i'm facing a disaster...
i updated JS 3.6 on sonar 8.5 in my win 7 64 bit.

everything worked fine with 3.5 64 bit but now with 3.6 i got an error in sonar 8.5 and everything crashed. it says that there is an error in jamstix3/js3sl64.rtxc (in the directory where i have JS data)

i tried everything, i also completely uninstalled JS and reinsalled first 3.0. then 3.5 and finally 3.6 but nothing worked.

so i de installed again everything and reinstalled the 3.5

what should i do?!

edit:
this solved my problem!

a quick question:

i just saw that when you want to change the sound (from tom1 to tom2 for example) you have to do multiple mouse click to access the various submenu.

i'm really sorry but i find this terrible annoying! :(

is there a way to switch back to old behaviour where the next submenu appears when you pass the mouse over the menu title?

(hope it's clear!)

Bosone,

There's no way to change that behavior.

Thanks much again, a_zimuth. I'm up and running, or walking, either way it works!

My first impression with very light use is that the interface is a bit glitzy, and awkward.

Example - When building a song, and typing in the title of each part, along with the bars/beats repetition data:

1) After typing in the text of the Part song ... "Enter" on the keyboard is not a valid way to get JS to accept the title ... I had to mouse over and hit "OK". Doesn't sound like a big deal, but the fingers/hand are right there having just finished typing ... an "Enter" command seemed very expected!

2) Anyway, after I moused over and hit OK for the Part Title, the naming dialogue shut down, which sounds OK on the face of it, but actually there is still some work to do to create the part. JS wants me to mouse over and do a 3-4 step process to get to the input for the rest of the Part creation (i.e., to open up a separate window to put in the time sig, bars, reps, etc). I just sort of expected that next window to pop up automatically.

3) Typing the title: It was really weird, the keyboard controls and the GUI did not want to work well together at all. I would hit back space once, but 3 letters would disappear. Similarly with the delete key to erase going forward. And there was no blinking cursor to see ... a few times I had no idea where the letters would come out when I started typing. I thought initially it was me, but actually it was only with that interface.

All small things though, all things considered, I'm just really happy to have JS3 up on my new machine!

Thanks again, a_zimuth -

If you still have the rzdlog.txt from the session, please email it to me.
Please also add this line to the [GENERAL] section of Documents\Jamstix3\jamstix3.ini:

PriorityMode=1

This may fix the problem.
Tested @ PriorityMode=1 & it seems to do the trick. ty.

Yes, I have a similar experience. JS excels in a lot of things but the bar and part editor interfaces are not among them.

A great release however I do have a recurring issue in Cubase 7.5. On first time launch JS always produces the error: "Cannot Open Core Event".

error.txt contains the line:

ERROR [10] GLE=1989482400

The most recent rzdlog.txt is from a previous session so it doesn't look like anything is being written/updated to the log file when this session is launched and the error occurs?

On subsequent re-opening of the same project it all works fine however.

Odd!
