Hate to ask the obvious, but your Vista and Reaper are 64 bit, right?

Jamstix 3.6 - Now Available (WIN & OSX)

alexis wrote:Hi - I have "licenses" (is that the right term) for JS, with a bunch of packs purchased, which I used on my old machine. I've just got a new machine, and I haven't loaded JS on it.

Can someone point me to a step-by-step url for getting 3.6 on to my new machine (which has no JS at all on it)?

Thanks!
Hi - Any concrete suggestions anyone please? I see the instructions in the first post of this thread talk about using an updater ... but as there is no JS to update on my new rig, I'm guessing that's not applicable?

To summarize - JS 3.5 is on my old machine (XP, 32-bit), and I'd like to get 3.6 on my new machine (W7, 64-bit).

Do I load 3.5 on my new rig, then use the updater? Or since the new rig has no JS on it at all, do I load up JS 3.6 de novo into my new rig?

Thanks for any advice -

Hi Alexis,

Just install v.3.6 on your new system (it is a full installer not just an update) and then copy your license file to C:\Jamstix3. (if you installed to your C drive). There should only be one license file that covers JS and all of your expansions and mini paks. If you can'f find your license get it from http://www.rayzoon.com/support.html

I just did my first gig with JS3.6 (didn't get to run the RC) and unfortunately getting huge performance issues.

Every 10 minutes or so getting audio glitches as someone else described previously, though I'm only running at 48kha.

It's like garbage collection or something is kicking in, and didn't matter if Jamstix was playing or not.

This is in Live 9.1 win 8.1 x64 but I'm running Jamstix 32 bit due to other 32 bit plugins atm.

I'm 99.9% it's Jamstix as it's my regular project that has been fine with no other updates apart from JS. The windows task manger shows huge cpu spike as does the Live performance % monitor when the spikes happen. Usually lasts for about 3-5 seconds.

Something in Jamstix hitting the CPU. GC? or ?

In the end I had to gut the gig short as I was playing without it running and the spiking made the project unplayable.

If you still have the rzdlog.txt from the session, please email it to me.
Please also add this line to the [GENERAL] section of Documents\Jamstix3\jamstix3.ini:

PriorityMode=1

This may fix the problem.

Will do, thanks a_zimuth!

As far as all the Mini-paks I own ... will JS "know" and load on my new system, or do I need to drag them over to another folder in the new system from the old one?

Hi Alexis,

Just reinstall them using the Install Pak button in the Kit or Mixer window. In OSX I think the Download manager takes care of that automatically.
